Student Union Fee

Each student pays a Student Union Fee.  When a student pays tuition, a portion of that money goes to pay the Student Union Fee.  Tuition and mandatory fees are established each year by action of the Board of Governors.  The board determined that, along with tuition and other mandatory fees, for the academic year 2008-09, the Student Union fee would increase to $88 per full-time equivalent student for each semester.

This fee pays for your use of the Student Union.  The Union is an Auxiliary Service, and receives no money from the State.  Your $88 a year pays for utilities, cleaning & maintenance, events, renovations, and administration services.  Food Service, the Bookstore, The Dean of Student Affairs, and the CSI are not part of the Union budget and are funded differently.
